Oatmeal Recipes

I love eating oatmeal for breakfast. I like to use organic oats or Mom’s Best Naturals.

Here are some of my favorite things to add to my oatmeal for some extra nutrition:

  • Chia Seeds
  • Golden Ground Flaxseed
  • Unsalted Roasted Almonds
  • Cinnamon
  • Cacao nibs
  • Cacao powder
  • Pumpkin Spice
  • Strawberries
  • Bananas
  • Peanut Butter
  • Almond Butter
  • Raw Honey
  • Grade B Real Maple Syrup

You can mix and match any of these to create many different, yet delicious, oatmeal dishes! Some of my personal favorite combinations are:

  1. Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal: Oatmeal + Pumpkin Spice and Cinnamon to taste (I throw in Almonds, too)
  2. Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal: Oatmeal + Pumpkin Spice to taste, 1/2 tablespoon of Cacao nibs, and a dash (or more if you like) of Cinnamon
  3. Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Oatmeal: Oatmeal + 1 Banana and 1/2 tablespoon of Cacao nibs (and feel free to add walnuts to this, too, for a more traditional banana bread taste)
  4. Peanut Butter Oatmeal: Oatmeal + 1/2 tablespoon of Peanut Butter and a dash of cinnamon
  5. Peanut Butter & Bananas Oatmeal: Oatmeal + 1/2 tablespoon of Peanut Butter and 1 Banana (optional addition: Cinnamon!)
  6. Maple Cinnamon Oatmeal: Oatmeal + Maple Syrup and Cinnamon to taste (Great to add nuts)
  7. Honey Cinnamon Oatmeal: Oatmeal + Honey and Cinnamon to taste (be more generous with ^ Maple Syrup than you would with Honey–the flavors are very different; unless you really love honey!) (Great to add nuts)
  8. Pumpkin Maple Oatmeal: Oatmeal + Maple Syrup and Pumpkin Spice to taste (Great to add nuts)

Don’t be afraid to mix, match, and experiment!

  1. Hi! Great blog! I eat oatmeal, too, when I’ trying to do something good for myself. I love to add shredded apple with cinnamon, or craisins with finely chopped walnuts. Yum!!

  2. Hi Donna!
Thank you so much! That’s great and sounds delicious! The fresh apple and cinnamon is a great homemade take on a popular instant packet flavor; way to go!

    Thanks for reading 🙂
