Homemade Pumpkin Spice Coffee!

Today I got my first Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte (nonfat) of the season! 🙂 I got it in the late morning, but by early evening I needed a little bit of a pick-me-up, so I made some iced coffee at home.

I use Newman’s Own Organic coffee, and from time to time I like to add some cinnamon into the coffee grounds to give it some flavor. Today though, I decided to add some pumpkin pie spice! I could have added a little more than I did, but the flavor was still detectable and tastey. But it was a great way to make a much healthier and lower calorie pumpkin flavored coffee compared to the pumpkin coffees and lattes you get out at coffee shops. I, personally, don’t like getting the pumpkin coffee at Dunkin cause they use syrup for the flavor, and as much as I LOVE the Pumpkin Spice latte from Starbucks, it is absolutely not figure friendly. I got a tall (the smallest size) nonfat latte, and it was 200 calories-and there is no other way to get this latte at Starbucks for less calories. And there are recipes for homemade pumpkin creamers, but I really don’t think all of that is necessary. I highly recommend adding some pumpkin pie spice to your coffee grounds, and you now have freshly brewed pumpkin spice coffee!
